 Good Study Materials to Use
« Thread Started on Feb 9, 2008, 9:37pm »

I took Exam FM/2 in November 2007 and here are the materials I used:

BPP Text --> SOA recommended for this exam. Very easy to understand. I liked this book a lot.

BPP Q & A book -> Lots of questions. It will be challenging to get through them all.

Derivatives Markets text --> SOA recommended for this exam. It was really good, but the material itself is pretty confusing. It is A LOT of vocab. The actual math is not difficult at all...it's learning all of these new terms. There are NO solutions in this book...not even just the correct answer. If you get the solutions manual for the book, it has full solutions, but only for the EVEN problems. Instead I recommend getting...

A Deeper Understanding, Faster Calculation--Exam FM Shortcuts and Insights --> This was extremely beneficial to have!! It has FULL solutions to ALL syllabus-related questions in the Derivatives Markets text. It also goes through each syllabus-related section of the text and describes it in a different way, which will really help you understand it better. There is also a third section to this book that covers interest theory, but I was already satisfied with my other sources for that material...so I don't know how good that is.

BPP Practice Tests --> These were very similar to the exam and I would highly recommend getting them

Actex Practice Tests --> These were very similar to the exam and I would highly recommend getting them
